EDTC 5325 provides a framework for examing the skills needed to occupy leadership roles in the educational technology field. Coursework focused on administrative details of selecting technology, team building and leadership, and effective administration. We delve deeper into planning for technology and management, hardware issues, software issues, and personnel issues. I was able to make a vision for a technology program, align program goals with the vision, determine my personal leadership style, and learn how to best promote technology in schools.  I also got to learn networking basics, develop a total cost of ownership, and learn about emerging technologies. In addition, I had the opportunnity to compare open source software options and acceptable use policies to figure out which would work best with different schools and their budgets, in order to provide students with the best technology program.

My artifacts for this course are my Prezi presentation on the role of a technology coordinator, my specifications and bid memo, open source software refelction, and a Popplet on the total cost of ownership.

All projects involved a great amount of research and planning. The purpose behind each one was to have the student learn by doing. The learner develped the necessary skills set to create these types of reports in order to convey inofrmation to stakeholders in a leadership role. These tasks helped me develop my research capabilities and how to best convey information in a format that was easy for viewers to follow and undersand.
