Artifact(s) Selected:
Artifact Reflection
EDTC 5330 has two primary functions. First, it is responsible for the organization and presentation of th EdTech Conference at Texas State University. Second, it requires students to perform a program evaluation of technology use in some educational scenario. This course had students explore various ways to improve a school setting currently using technology to accomplish some sort of goal by using our knowledge of technology, curriculum, learning strategies, and research.
My two artifacts for this course are my conference presentation and program evaluation. EDTC 5330 gave me the opportunity to develop and present my first every conference presentation. My conference focused on the use of blogs in the elementary classroom. I discussed the benefits of blogging for writing development in K-5. My presentation was combined with two other partners who also emphasized writing development in students. Our overall presentation was geared for students K-12 and incorporated blogging, StoryBird, BoomWriter, Wikis, and Google Docs.
The second artifact was the progam evaluation I conducted at RBES. The evaluation focused on the effectiveness of the Istation reading program in improving 3rd through 5th grade student reading scores. This experience gave me the opportunity to interview stakeholders, gather and analyze student data, and evaluate the effectiveness of current technology based initiatives on our campus.
